Our Story
Memories from my Grandma's kitchen
I believe everyone has a favorite recipe from grandma. Perhaps a pie, a soup, a bread, a beef stew or a casserole. One of my grandma's favorite recipe is her white cake. I still remember the smell in her house. It brings me joy and sweet memories every time I bake it. Brazilian families will always have a simple cake at home. Some people like to eat it for breakfast others like to enjoy it with a cup of coffee for an afternoon snack.
I started baking cakes for my friends and I would always get a compliment so I decided to create Bisa Cakes. "Bisa" is short for Bisavó which means Great Grandma in Portuguese. It is pronounced "Bee zuh". I have two beautiful daughters and they are fortune to have a Bisa named Zélia. She is 97 year old and filled with joy. She was really happy to know that she was my inspiration to start this journey. Her recipe book has history and love and I'm lucky to have it and share some of it with you.
